Prepare a listening manuscript

Remove page numbers, running headers and footnotes that should not be read aloud. Spell names consistently. Test a paragraph containing the hardest names before generating a whole chapter.

Work in small sections

Split at a scene or chapter boundary and keep voice settings consistent. Rename each take with its chapter and part number. Download an ordered ZIP when you are ready to collect the recordings.

Use characters with intention

For a scene with dialogue, give the narrator and each character a separate cast voice. Keep stage directions in narration or remove them. Check that you have the rights to the manuscript before distributing an adaptation.

A STARTING POINT FOR YOUR SCRIPT
At the end of the lane stood a little shop that opened only after sunset. [[p900]] Clara had passed it a hundred times. Tonight, for the first time, there was a letter waiting in the window.

Make a small test first

Choose a voice, generate a short take and listen before building a longer project. Scripts are processed by an online speech service; avoid material you should not share with an outside provider.
